I am proud to announce that I have been offered the role of a Digital Apprentice, working for ITN (Independent Television News). ITN produce the ITV, Channel 4 and 5 news, with the ITV and Channel 4 studios situated where I am based.
ITN is one of the world’s leading news and multimedia content companies creating and distributing a variety of genres from news to entertainment to corporate to customers and clients around the globe. The news programming produced for ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 reaches around 10 million people every day, providing comprehensive and impartial news for the British public. ITN’s news is watched by millions of viewers worldwide, through partnerships with global news outlets such as Reuters, CNN and NBC and online partners such as Livestation, YouTube and MSN. As well as providing television news ITN operates two other divisions: ITN Source, and video creation business ITN Productions.
ITN had over 850 applicants for just 8 apprenticeship roles so I am extremely privileged to be offered one! Lasting 18 months, I will sample a variety of news related roles from being in the studios, to out in the broadcast trucks and to editing and creating graphics with the final stage of the scheme being a role and department specialisation where I focus on a specific role. This is a brilliant opportunity for myself to further develop my skills and to learn through experience in a passionate, hard-working, team environment.
