A Media Production student from South Essex College has beaten off hundreds of applicants to become an apprentice at ITN. Joe Mander was one of eight out of more than 850 hopefuls to be selected and is involved in producing programmes which are enjoyed by millions of viewers across the country every day on ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.

This is how South Essex College introduced me as part of their student success stories. I was approached by their media team who wanted to interview me on my success following me studying with them. I studied Film and Television Production BA (Hons) at their Southend Campus, finishing the course with a Distinction* Distinction * Distinction, the second from top grade. In my interview I talk about how the teaching and facilities at South Essex College helped me to get where I am today.
